Let’s face it getting in shape can be hard.
But it’s especially hard for those that have a busy schedule.
If it’s a demanding work schedule or taking care of young children here are 5 tips that can help you achieve your fitness goals even if time is limited.
1) Use a Meal Prep Company and Amazon to your advantage!
Spending an hour plus each night preparing your meals for the next day just isn’t practical for those with a busy schedule. An easy fix to this problem is to use a quality meal prep company.
By using a meal prep company, you can make custom meals to the exact specifications of your trainer and the meals can be shipped right to your house. No more cooking, cleaning dishes and no more wasting time cooking every meal. There is no shortage of meal prep companies and you will be surprised how amazing the food tastes!
Stop wasting time driving to GNC and Vitamin shop to get supplements. With Amazon Prime you can get your supplements and protein powder shipped right to your house in less than two days for free. Take advantage of this.
2) Hire a Personal Trainer
Hiring a trainer has many benefits. But when it comes to saving time the most important aspect of hiring a trainer is not having to think about your workouts. There is no need to plan your workouts and your diet. Just get a plan and execute. Another great option is to have the trainer come to your home and workout at your house.
You can have your trainer meet you first thing in the morning before work or later at night after work. This can save you a lot time driving to and from the gym. A trainer will also help you stay accountable on those busy days when you don’t feel like working out.
3) Workout at Home or Find a gym close to work.
Although I touched on it in tip number 2, working out from home can be the ultimate time saver. Waking up just 30-45 minutes early to work out the first thing in the morning can be a great way to start your day. I also recommend a cold shower right afterwards (I’ll touch on that in another article).
If you’re not a morning person then you can work out as soon as you get home. If you are too busy to drive to the gym, then use the money that you would have spent on a gym membership and buy some gym equipment for your home. You don’t need much just a set or two of dumbbells, pull up bar, some bands and a little bit of space is more than enough to have a productive workout.
Working out on your lunch break at a gym close to your job is another great option. Just make sure you have enough time to shower and cool down before returning to work. You might even find that you have increase energy and production once you return to work.
4) Plan your week ahead of time.
Busy people will often complain they don’t have the time to work out and eat right. Let’s be honest this is just a lame excuse. If you truly want to be healthier and to be in shape then you need to make time to work out 3-4 hours a week. I bet those same people watch 3-4 hours of TV a week or spend the same amount of time scrolling through their phones.
Spend 15 minutes every Sunday night to go over your schedule for the upcoming week. Write down what days you are going to be able to fit in a workout and what days you can’t. Also remember there is no need to work out for more than an hour. Believe it or not you can get a productive workout in 30 minutes.
5) Always carry some high quality snacks on you at all times.
Let’s face it, we are all human and we all make mistakes. There are going to be days when you forget to bring a meal from home. An easy fix to this problem is to keep high quality snacks in your desk, in your car or in your work bag. Snacks such as beef jerky, nuts, protein powder or some protein bars (be careful many protein bars are just candy bars with cheap protein added to them) can be a healthy snack, that won’t spoil your diet and ruin all your hard work.
